The type of basketball shoes that are best for a person can depend on whether they are for casual use or to play in. Some basketball shoes change styles each year, depending on which company manufactures them. By trying on several different pairs of basketball shoes, the person will be able to decide which brand is right for them.

• Watch some basketball games on television to see what footwear brands different players wear. Take notes during the game to help you keep track of shoes that you like. Do not necessarily pick a pair of shoes just because they look good, especially if you intend to play in them and not just wear them casually.


• Go to an online shoe store to look for basketball footwear. Search through the store’s online inventory and review the different brands that are for sale. Read the customer feedback for each pair that interests you to see if there is anything about the shoes that people do not like.
