How to Set Up a Breakfast Bar in a Conference Room

Providing a nice breakfast for people during a conference may be a great way to put them in a positive mood. Setting up the breakfast in a conference room appropriately will most likely assure that everyone is satisfied with the food and their ability to move about the room freely.

  • Set up the breakfast buffet behind the presentation. People won’t be comfortable walking up toward the speaker for food during a conference. They will also draw attention away from the meeting by visiting the breakfast buffet while the conference is taking place.

  • Make sure there is enough room for people to walk on either side of the breakfast buffet. This will allow people at the conference to get their food quicker without getting in the way of others.

  • Put the eating utensils and plates on a single side of the breakfast buffet. If you put these items on both sides of the buffet people will be mixed up and possibly run into each other. Everyone will be more likely to form a single line if the eating utensils are on one side of the buffet only.

  • Ask everyone what types of breakfast foods they enjoy before the meeting. Try to get a nice variety of items so that everyone is happy with the meal. Some fruits or vegetables may go over well with any health conscious people attending the conference.

  • Include several breakfast drink options like milk, coffee, water, tea and juice. You may also need to think about serving decaf coffee for anyone who enjoys coffee, but shouldn’t have caffeine.
