How to Find Free Jewelry Making Classes

How to Sign Up for Jewelry Making Classes

Making your own jewelry can be a fun and rewarding way to explore your creativity. As your skills develop, you can enjoy wearing your own creations or giving them to loved ones as gifts. You can also start your own business selling your designs either online or out of a boutique. Develop and hone your design skills by taking jewelry making classes.

Each community will have a different set of offerings for jewelry making classes. Because of this, finding a class to sign up for can prove to be tricky. Knowing where to look and what resources to take advantage of can help in being able to sign up for a jewelry making class.

  • Research your community resources. Jewelry making is a growing arts and crafts activity and more community parks and recreation departments are offering these classes to their citizens. Good places to look into would be the local YMCA or community center. Public libraries also very often post up community activities that are being offered.

  • Read the local newspaper. Often times, local classes or clubs advertise in the paper in order to get a larger group interested.

  • Ask your local community college or adult education office if there are any jewelry making classes available. This information may also be available online.

  • Visit some nearby jewelry boutiques, bead stores, and arts and crafts stores. People who are already involved in the jewelry making activity in your community will likely frequent these establishments. Making a connection with one or two of these people can expose you to more resources and information. Some of these establishments may even offer jewelry making classes themselves.

  • Get a copy of the May issue of the Lapidary Journal or visit its website. This publication lists various gem and mineral clubs and schools.
