You can use a small room or even a corner in your home and set up your computer and other business essentials. Let your family and friends know about your home office and that they should keep away from your office.

  5. Market your event management company. Determine who your target audience is and market to this group. You can send fliers or other marketing materials to your prospective clients. Build an attractive website that describes what services you offer and other pertinent information. Attend parties, picnics, trade shows, conferences and other social events to promote your event management services. Advertise in the local newspapers and telephone book. Create referral partners with other people in complementary businesses such as DJs, photographers, caterers, hotel concierges, table rental companies and limo drivers.
