How to Stop Wedding Rings From Spinning

When you're married, it isn't unusual to want to proudly display your wedding ring. Some women, however, may have a problem with their wedding or engagement rings rotating on their finger. Although there are several reasons that this might occur, there are ways that you can keep your wedding ring in place and stop it from spinning.

- Take your rings to a jeweler that you trust to handle your ring and give you an honest opinion on what is the best solution to stop your ring from spinning on your finger.
- Have the rings sized. If they are overly large this may be the cause of the spinning and they may need to be made into a smaller size. This may not be a possibility however, if your knuckles are larger than the area where your ring will settle.
- Talk to your jeweler about attaching a butterfly spring insert to the inner bottom shank of your wedding ring. This allows for a more snug fit between your finger and your ring and helps to hold the ring in place. This is one option if you are unable to have the ring made into a smaller size due to the type of ring, its material or the shape of your finger.

- Have sizing beads, which are often called "speed bumps", soldered to the inner shank of your ring. These are two balls or bumps that add additional weight to help keep top heavy rings facing upright and will help to prevent them from spinning around on your finger. These take up space inside the ring however, and may feel uncomfortable to some people.
- Ask to have your wedding and engagement rings soldered together if they are each spinning independent of the other. The two rings rubbing against one another can begin to show signs of wear over time.
