How to Store Window Cleaning Tools
Window cleaning tools and supplies are essential in keeping a home clean and hygenic. It is very important that you store these tools properly because they can be hazardous to children and pets, and that reason alone can make it a little tricky. It also very important to be mindful of the expiration dates of any supplies.
Instructions:
- Figure out a location to keep all the tools and supplies. You will be able to find them with ease whenever you are ready or need to use them again. If you have children or pets in the house, find a location that is high off the ground or has a lock on it, like a cabinet or shelf.
- Find a location that is cool, even during the summer heat. Some liquid cleaning supplies are combustible and will expire more quickly if stored in a hot area.
- Keep the original labels on all cleaning supplies and refrain from mixing any agents together. This will keep you from using the wrong cleaner and will also help you stay more organized.
- Keep all original labels on the tools and do not mix anything together. There are different types of window cleaning supplies, and by keeping the original labels you will not use the wrong cleaner on a window.
- Rinse the cleaning supplies after you use them. It is common for residue to remain on your bottles (or drip from the nozzle) and it's best to wash the bottle free of residue. Simply wipe them down with a wet towel or cloth or run them under the faucet and gently dry the bottles off.
- Rinse all of your window cleaning tools off after you use them. This includes any sponges, towels, squeegees and bottles. It is best to keep your tools residue free. Just as with the bottles, rinse the tools off by running them under a faucet and let them air dry before storing.
- Throw out any outdated supplies. The fresher your supplies are the better they will clean.
