How to Study for The DAT (Dental Admissions Test)
If you are considering a career as a dentist your first hurdle is to register and take the DAT. As you may know the DAT is the required dental admissions test for all dental schools. You should score at least a 17 on the DAT to successfully become admitted into dental school.
- Conduct a web search for DAT tutorials. Type "DAT tutorials" into your preferred search engine. Hit ENTER.
- Browse through the search results to determine which DAT tutorial is best suited for your needs. Basically you are looking for a DAT tutorial that will cover all aspects of the examination. Required subjects covered within the DAT are math, English, science and reading comprehension. Realize that the math section will include a combination of algebra, trig and geometry as well as some calculus.
- Complete the DAT tutorial as directed by the provided instructions. Basically you will complete a skills exercise at the end of each section. These skills exercises are questions based on the information you covered in each section. As a method of prepping for the actual examination use these skills exercises to construct a study guide for the practice tests.
- Complete the practice tests available through your selected DAT tutorial. You will find several practice tests at the end of the DAT tutorial, which you could use to prep for the real examination. You should use your created study guide to prep for the practice tests and then take as many of the practice tests as possible. You could use the practice tests themselves as a study guide for the real DAT examination.
