How to Test Floor Scrubbers

Cleaning floors can be done with much more ease than in the past, using a wide array of different machinery, which makes the task run smoothly. Large concrete floors can now be cleaned using floor scrubbing machinery, which can clean and even polish the surface in a fraction of the time.

Directions:

  1. It is always as good idea to study the manufacturer's manual concerning the machine. There is a wealth of information in these write-ups, which will explain details about how the machine works, its power and the types of chemicals and cleaners compatible with it.

  2. Test the chemicals in a place where any damage would not be seen before you start to clean the entire floor. If the chemicals do damage the floor, pick new chemicals that work with the scrubber, but will not harm the flooring.

  3. Plug in (or charge, depending on the model) the floor scrubber and give it a test on a smaller area of the floor. Depending on how large the scrubber is, you can better determine the size of the floor test you want to use. Just make sure that the area you pick for the test is large enough to accommodate the brushes, and that you will be able to maneuver the machine.

  4. Use the manual to determine how long you will need to test your section. You will need to be careful to keep your floor scrubber moving, because leaving it over the same spot in the floor can cause damage to the floor.

  5. Turn the scrubber off and inspect for damage. This may include scratches, cracks, or burns. If the scrubber causes damage in this small test, you may need to find one that is not as powerful, or resort to hand cleaning of the floor. Otherwise, you are ready to start cleaning the floor.
