How to Thin Nail Polish

There is nothing more frustrating than reaching for your favorite bottle of nail polish only to discover that it has been sitting for too long, which has made it too thick and sticky to use. Fortunately, there is a way to thin out the polish. It is not only easy to do, but it would also save you a trip to the store to buy new polish.

How to Thin Nail Polish

  1. Shake the nail polish bottle to see if you can dislodge the metal ball at the bottom of the bottle.

  2. Remove the top from the nail polish.

  3. Using an eyedropper, add one drop of acetone nail polish remover to the bottle.

  4. Put the top back on the bottle and give it a good shake.

  5. If the polish still seems too thick, put another drop of polish remover into the bottle, replace the top and shake again.

  6. Keep repeating steps 3 and 4 until you reach the desired consistency of the polish. Only add one drop of remover at a time and shake well after each drop.

  7. Once you are satisfied with the consistency of the polish, it is ready to use and should be as good as new.
