How to Treat Eczema Psoriasis
Our skin is not just our largest organ and most important detoxifier; it is also our social face and our immune barrier. Generally speaking, skin conditions are frequently a reflection of internal issues our bodies are having with detoxification and our immunity systems. Eczema and psoriasis are relatively common conditions that can affect the young and old alike and take a large emotional toll on those who must bear its burden.
- Remove processed foods. Many foods, such as refined flours and sugars as well as alcohol, are considered to be highly inflammatory to your body. Try reducing the amount of refined sugars and flours from your diet as an important first step
- Take your Omega 3/Omega 6. There is a golden ration between Omega 3 fatty acids and Omega 6. Too much Omega 6 has been proven to be inflammatory to the body and the build up most likely caused due to the consumption of livestock fed on enriched grains high in Omega six and low in Omega 3 fatty acids. Redress this balance by either consuming more fish, or by taking an omega 3 supplement.
- Be gentle. Washing with harsh soaps and abrasive cloths can exacerbate your condition, as can washing every day. Try for a bath containing mild castile soaps and gentle washcloths every other day, making sure to pat yourself dry rather than rub with a towel. Follow each bath with a full compliment of moisturizing conditioners to your skin, taking time to allow them to soak in thoroughly before dressing in a clean, lint-free set of pajamas. These will help prevent any harsh rubbing of skin against your bed linens and help keep the moisturizer on the skin, rather than on your bed linens.
