How to Update Software

The software on your computer may need to be updated every so often. These updates help to make the software programs run more smoothly and quickly. Updating software is simple and can actually make your system work more efficiently. Here’s how to update software on your computer:

1. Go to the website of the software manufacturer. For instance, if you need to update Microsoft Office software, you will need to go to www.microsoft.com.




2. Search for your specific program. On the Microsoft webpage, you will need to locate the Office tab.




3. Once you locate the software, there will be an option for updating your software. Click on this option and follow the instructions on the screen.




4. You may also update your software by searching for the program on your computer. Right click on the green start button located at the bottom left of the screen.




5. Click Explore.




6. Find the software program.




7. Right click on the program icon.




8. Click on properties.




9. Click on update software.




10. Follow the instructions on the screen.
