- Terra cotta pots
- A variety of small houseplants (choose plants such as vine that will climb the side of the cage)
- Soil

- Spray bottle
- Clear a space where you would like to set your birdcage. Be sure to choose a spot that receives the proper amount of light needed to keep your plants healthy.
- Place the mat on the table surface and then set the birdcage on top. The matt offers extra protection to your tabletop.
- Set plastic planter trays inside the birdcage.
- Add a small amount of soil to your terra cotta pots. Remove the houseplants from the original container and gently loosen the roots. Place plants into the terra cotta pots and fill in extra soil where needed. Be sure the pots allow room for the plant to grow.
- Place pots inside the birdcage, if using vine plants, arrange vines to grow in an interesting way along the sides of the cage.
- Spray water onto plants; the mist will keep them moist, but not drown the roots.
