How to Use Bleach to Kill and Clean Mold
Use bleach to kill and clean mold by purchasing a gallon of bleach, gloves and a large bottle. Find the mold in your home that you want to kill and clean. Make sure that there are no pets or children around. Treat the area several times with the bleach and water to remove the mold. It may take a week for the mold to be removed completely.
- Use a 12 oz. bottle or larger. Fill it halfway with tap water. Put on gloves. Fill the rest of the bottle with bleach.
- Place the top back on the bottle tightly. Remove any bleach that spilled out on the side of the bottle with water and a clean cloth.
- Shake the bottle to mix the ingredients together. Open the windows and cut on the fan. Keep your gloves on to avoid the mixture getting onto your skin.
- Spray the mixture liberally on molded areas and leave it there to dry.
- Spray the mixture a second time for tougher stains, again leaving it to dry. The mold should disappear after the second application.
