How to Use Magnets in Cupping Therapy

Cupping is a therapy that is used for relieving pain and stress in the body that comes from a Chinese medicine. Magnetic cupping uses magnets that are placed on the skin's surface to stimulate electrical currents throughout the entire body. This works to stimulate blood circulation and oxygen flow to help to heal the body from within.  Using magnets in cupping therapy can work very well on most people.

Things you'll need:

  • Magnetic cupping set

  1. Take a small amount of cupping cream and apply it to the area that needs to be treated. The cream provides a smooth surface for the cups to attach to.

  2. Screw the tip in the bulb and with the cup placed on the bottom.  Attach the bulb above it so it can become its suction. The cup is shaped like an upside-down "v" and the bulb sits right above it. The easiest way to do this is to flip the device over, find the opening and insert the magnetic tip in it, and then screw to the bottom of the bulb. The magnetic tip is not made to sharp so it will not puncture the skin. The works as a type of acupressure, but just done with cupping.

  3. Squeeze one of the bulbs and place the cup on top of the skin, as your release your grip on the bulb. Your skin will be drawn up into the cup by your skin, and then pressure will be added to your skin by the magnetic pins. Use as many cups as your desire on your body.

  4. Let the cups sit on your body for about 15 minutes. To remove them from your skin, squeeze the bulbs to release the cups grip on your skin.
