How to Use Trigonometry in Engineering

Trigonometry is extremely important, not only in a college classroom, but in real life careers. Engineers use trigonometry to build all types of different structures. Engineers need to know how to figure out different types of scientific problems and mathematical equations.

  1. Figure out the specific field of engineering that you are going to be using the trigonometry.

  2. Think about your different plans for the projects that you are working on. Think about what you would like to do with the project. Know what you would like the completed structure to look like. You need to know all of the resources that you are going to need for this project. Think about the budget that you are going to be working with. You should know how long the project is going to take you to finish.

  3. Start to take some measurements. Figure out all of the dimensions of the structure that you are going to be building. You need to figure out all of the specific angles and the force distribution for the structure that you are going to be building.

  4. Start to build the structure that you have planned. Think about the measurements when you are building the structure and build it as you have measured. You are going to have to make a specification sheet for the structure that you have designed to look at over time.

  5. Make sure that the structure is stable, safe, and secure. Get the structure inspected to make sure that it passes all of the requirements needed for use.
