There are many website design programs available to help make web designing more efficient. Each one will have their own special features, but all will have basic designing tools. Some programs can be downloaded for free, while others will cost money.
- Choose the layout of your website first before adding any content. Each software program will have templates to choose from. The layout of your website will determine how your content is presented. Remember that the simple designs are usually the best. You don't want to make it difficult for your readers to find information.
- Create a logo to place at the top of the page. The size of the logo will vary depending upon the layout you choose. You should be able to resize your logo with most software programs.
- Add images on each page to make the content more appealing. Most software programs will have a tool to add, resize and change the alignment of images.
- Add links to your content to help your audience find more information. Make the link open in a new browser window if you're linking to another website. Each software program should have settings that make links open in new windows. Change the font of links to a different color with the color editing tool on your software.
- Use the spell checker option before publishing. Content that is misspelled will look very unprofessional.
Website design software is a lot easier to use than most people think. If you have basic computer knowledge, you should have no problems learning. Sometimes the easiest way to learn is by trial and error.
