How to Use a Bar Stool in Remodeling

Reusing old bar stools allows you to save money when redecorating your home. Your old and outdated bar stools can look like new ones in just 24 to 48 hours. Bar stools are great because they can add extra seating as well as a finishing touch to your home.

Items needed:

  • Bars tool

  • Sandpaper

  • Scissors

  • Paint

  • Paint brushes

  • Glue gun or staple gun

  • Measuring tape

  1. Wipe down the barstool and remove any dirt, cobwebs and spots that are on the bar stool.

  2. Decide what color you are going to pain the barstool so that it matches your new home design and décor.

  3. Apply sandpaper to the wooden parts of the barstool to sand down all the uneven edges of the stool.

  4. Measure the seat of the barstool if you plan to add new fabric to it. Place the measuring tape across the top of the barstool to see how wide a circle you need to cut in order to cover the stool. Cut the fabric to the correct size and shape so that you can recover the barstool.

  5. Paint the bar stool the new color and allow 24 hours to dry.

  6. Wrap the fabric around the seat of the bar stool and use a staple gun to staple the fabric to the barstool. An alternative you can also try is a glue gun and hot glue the fabric to the stool.

  7. Cut extra fabric off so that it does not show.

  8. Group the barstool with others in an area that you intend to use them. Barstools make great seating at kitchen counters, in playrooms, bathrooms and patios.
