How to Use a Food Processor to Make Bread

Fresh homemade bread is something that everyone should try at one time or another. If you love the warm loaves of bread that you buy from the grocery store, you should definitely try making your own at home. Many people don't know that a food processor could be used to make bread and it is also fairly easy to do.

How to Use a Food Processor to Make Bread



  1. Use a bread recipe that does not call for more than 4 cups of flour.

  2. Mix all the wet ingredients as directed in the recipe and place the mixture in the refrigerator to chill. This will prevent the dough from overheating and killing the yeast during processing.

  3. Mix the dry ingredients as directed in the recipe and add a couple of pinches of dry yeast to the mixture.

  4. Put the dry ingredients into the food processor.

  5. Set the food processor on low speed and gradually add the chilled ingredients.

  6. Once the mixture turns to dough, turn off the food processor and allow the dough to sit for approximately 10 minutes.

  7. Add some flour to the mixture if it is too sticky or some water if it is too thick.

  8. Turn the processor back on and blend the dough for a few more seconds. Process the dough in 5 second increments until if forms a smooth consistency, but don't allow it to overheat.

  9. Remove the dough from the food processor and knead it as directed in the recipe.

  10. Place dough in a pan and bake as directed in recipe.
