How to Use a Home Bikini Wax Kit

Getting a bikini wax can cost as much as $100 dollars with tip. There are many home waxing kits available that will cost less than going to s salon to get a bikini wax. While either a salon or home wax can be painful, a home wax can save you time and money and give you long lasting results.

  • Set aside enough time to do your wax. Most who are waxing for the first time will take more time since they do not have a lot of experience waxing. Make sure you have enough time to do the full wax all at once.

  • Take some ibuprofen 20-30 minutes before you wax. This will help ease some of the pain from the wax.

  • Read the instructions on the box carefully. You want to make sure you understand everything that came with the wax kit and that you understand the instructions thoroughly before you begin to wax.

  • Have a set of tweezers set aside for stray hairs. Since hair grows at different cycles, you may not get all the hairs during your wax. Tweezers will easily help get rid of any leftover hairs.

  • Wax from the outside in. Apply the wax in the direction of the hair growth. Allow it to cool to the right consistency then use the cloth or paper strips provided to pull the hair out by laying the strip firmly on the wax and pulling in the opposite direction of hair growth.

  • Wax in no more than 2-inch sections. Since you lay the wax in the directions of hair growth 2-inch sections are ideal. If you go larger, you risk pulling hair that is growing in multiple directions and causing more pain than necessary.

  • Apply a soothing cream to skin when done. There may be one provided in your waxing kit or you can purchase one at the same place that you bought your waxing kit.
