How to Use a Waterless Car Wash
Waterless Car Wash formulas are not new. They've been developed as a means of convenience, to save water and keep your vehicles clean on the go. They clean, polish and protect your paint in one easy step without water, and no rinsing is necessary.
- Gather your cleaning supplies. You will need at least two microfiber cleaning cloths, depending on the size of the vehicle, and two microfiber buffing cloths plus your waterless cleaner. If you are cleaning the windows and wheels, bring those formulas to the car also.
- Start in the area of the car that is least dirty first. This is typically the roof. Some formulations are sprayed on the cloth while other formulations are sprayed on the paint surface, so follow the manufacturer's instructions for usage. Work the cleaner into the surface to loosen dirt using a circular motion. You will work from the top to the bottom of the vehicle.
- Turn your cleaning cloths frequently to avoid rubbing dirt into the surface. Do this by folding the cleaning cloth into quarters. Unfold the cloths to move to a clean section often. Change to a new clean cloth and repeat the process when all the sections of the cloth are dirty. Do not continue to use a cloth with heavy dirt on it.
- Wipe the cleaned area off with a different microfiber cloth. Again, use a circular motion. Focus on buffing to bring out shine. Use the same process mentioned above to keep rotating to a clean section of cloth to avoid buffing the dirt in.
- Finish cleaning the car by doing the windows, wheels and tires last with a waterless formula by following the manufacturer's instructions.
