How to Wear Rhinestone Body Art
Rhinestone body art is a unique accessory that can make you feel sexy by accentuating certain body parts. It usually comes as either a complete design with an adhesive backing or as single gems that can be adhered to the skin with glue. To wear rhinestone body art, decide where on your body you want to place the design and apply it correctly, so it lasts all day.
Applying Complete Designs
- Decide where on your body you want to place the rhinestone body art. The upper arm, shoulder blade and face are popular choices. For a complete design, place the body art on your shoulder blade or upper arm. If you will be using single gems, consider placing them along the outer corner of your eye.
- Wash your skin with soap and water. Take care to thoroughly cleanse the area where the design will be placed, to remove oils, make-up or lotions.
- Dry your skin completely. If the skin is still moist, the body art will not adhere properly.
- Remove the protective film from the backing of the body art. Usually, complete designs come with an adhesive backing protected by a clear film. Avoid pulling or stretching the design as you remove the film, as it could distort the image.
- Place the design on your skin. Firmly press down until the body art is adhered to the skin.
Applying Single Rhinestones
- Cleanse and dry the skin where the gems will be placed.
- Remove the cap from a tube of eyelash glue and squeeze a small amount of glue onto a disposable plate. You can also use Spirit Gum, which can be found at party stores, theater supply stores or online.
- Pick up one rhinestone with a pair of tweezers. Make sure that the back of the gem faces down and the shiny, crystal part of the gem faces up.
- Dip the back of the gem into the glue carefully.
- Place the gem on the desired location of your body, such as around the outer corner of your eye.
- Wait a few minutes, the lightly touch the gem to ensure the glue has dried.
- Continue applying gems until you achieve the design you want.
