How to Wear the Right Shoes to a Theme Park

Many people do not think about problems occurring with their feet, or foot comfort, until it is too late. Wearing painful shoes can cause a pleasant experience to turn into miserable. There is no need to have painful foot sores while on vacation. Here are some tips in selecting the right shoes for a day at the theme park.

Theme parks are popular destinations for family vacations and trips with friends. Each year schools and religious organizations plan field trips for students to experience a theme park.  Visitors of all ages need to have proper foot support to enjoy all the park has to offer.

Theme park tickets can cost several hundred dollars for a small family of four. Planning the wardrobe choices for the day is extremely important. Once a theme park is entered, expect to walk a few miles that day. Going from one attraction to the next often involves a lot of standing and waiting around. Wearing cute stylish sandals or shoes that hurt the feet is asking for trouble, and a really bad idea.

Consider wearing supportive walking shoes or athletic shoes that tie. If flat sandals are worn make sure they have a strap that is secure. Shoes that are not secure may fall off when riding a roller coaster, train or other attraction. The gift shops in Disney World and other theme parks do not routinely carry shoes.

Choose the best supportive shoes available from your closet. These may be last year’s gym shoes that were never worn. If there are no adequate shoes at home, purchase a pair made for walking or doing light exercise. Wear the shoes a few times before going to the theme park to ensure that there is no pain associated with wearing the shoes.  Oftentimes breaking in a new sneaker causes painful blisters, which can create additional problems. Use these tips to find the right shoes to wear to a theme park.
