How to Word Church Wedding Programs
When you are planning a wedding you will want to make sure every little detail of the wedding is planned perfectly. During the ceremony, each guest will receive a wedding program that will provide them with all of the necessary information about the ceremony, including the order of the ceremony and the members of the wedding party.
- Begin the program with the names of the bride and groom, the place, time and date of the wedding. The full first, middle and last names of the bride and groom should be spelled out completely. The address, date and time should be void of any abbreviations as well. For example, words such as o'clock, Avenue and August should all be written out completely.
- Write out the order of the ceremony, include each event for the ceremony. If you think some guests will be confused by a event, carefully write out a description of the event for guests.
- Completely write out the full name and composer of each song used in the ceremony. The name of the song should be written in quotations.
- Write out Bible verses as follows: book, chapter and then verse. If you include the text or a portion of the text write it out exactly how it appears in the specific version of the Bible being used.
- Include a section of names of the bridal party and the groomsmen. Give each participant their own line, their title, such as Best Man or Bridesmaid, as well as their relationship to the bride or groom.
- Write out the full names of anyone else appearing in the ceremony and include their relationship to the bride and groom as well.
- Include a sentiment at the end of the program that mentions family members, such as grandparents who were unable to attend the ceremony. This passage should be formal and include a prayer, or the words "in loving memory" as a sign of respect towards the deceased.
