How to Word Thank You Plaques

An award plaque is a great way to say thank you for a donation or other token of appreciation. Wording a thank you plaque is the most important aspect of its creation. It needs to clearly state why the award is being presented to the recipient as well as the date that the award is being presented.

  1. Choose the design of the thank you plaque that is to be made. You will need to decide on the size of the plaque first so that you can determine how much information is able to be printed.

  2. Add a title at the top of the plaque that recognizes the recipient such as "A Special Thanks" or "Thanks for the Generous Donation." Customize this message so that it suits the specific reason for giving the plaque.

  3. Add the full name of the recipient of the plaque just under the title message. You may want to have the name of the person bolded so that it stands out from the rest of the text printed on the thank you plaque.

  4. Determine what information should be printed on the plaque. For example, if the reason for the thank you plaque is to recognize a donation that was given, you should include information such as the amount of the donation, the date of the donation and the date that the award plaque is being presented to the recipient.

  5. Bring the information that needs to be printed onto the plaque to the shop where you are having the thank you plaque printed and let them know of any specific fonts or bolded text that needs to be incorporated onto the plaque.

  6. Wait for the plaque to be completed, and pick it up on the date that you are given for its completion.
