How to Write Professional Services Business Proposals
Running a service industry business that requires you to promote services you offer to buyers will require you to create a business proposal at some point. Business proposals generally include information such as the service you offer, the company, pricing information and specific details on the services provided to that specific customer.
- Create a cover letter. Include your company name, phone number, address and any other contact information. You'll also need to include the date and time as well as the person or company you are creating the proposal for.
- Create a listing of objectives for the proposal. Take another sheet of paper, in paragraph or bullet form, form a list of objectives that the potential customer can accomplish by using the services you provide.
- Specifically write out the details on how your service business is able to offer the potential customer a solution to their problem for each objective you listed.
- Include a price for each service you plan to provide. You'll need to price each service individually and then total the cost for all the services at the end. Its best to start this at the beginning of your proposal, this will however depend on how much space the objectives will take up.
- Create an "about us" section. Within this section you'll want to provide an overview of your business. This will include details on the services you will provide, the amount of time your company has been in operation as well as the reason why your business is the best choice.
- Construct a call to action. Towards the end of your proposal, tell the potential customer exactly what they need to do to book or secure your services. This can be in the form of a signature statement or you can tell them if they are interested in hiring your company to call your office.
- Thoroughly review and inspect your rough draft. Pay special attention to any grammatical and spelling errors. It is also helpful to have someone else review the proposal to provide additional feedback.
- Prepare your final draft. Complete any final edits or revisions. Once you are confident with your final version present it to the potential client.
