How to Write a Commercial Cleaning Contract
For any business, a contract is essential to a healthy business relationship. With a commercial cleaning contract, you'll need to clearly state the services you plan to perform along with a detailed pricing list and payment terms. In the event of any disagreements, a contract will ensure that you are paid for the services you perform.
What You'll Need:
- Word processing software
- Use a word processing software program to open a contract template. Popular programs such as Microsoft Word and Works both offer a large number of available templates. Leave all the spaces with client information blank so that you'll be able to use the template again. Completely fill in any sections that require information about your company.
- Clearly list the cost and method of payment that you require for the cleaning services. The client should be able to easily review the contract and find this information. Generally, long-term commercial cleaning contracts are paid on a monthly basis.
- List the cancellation policy for the contract. Clearly state any penalties for early termination and the amount notice you'll require for the client to terminate the commercial cleaning contract with your company.
- Contact the client to schedule a meeting to discuss the terms and conditions of the contract. Give the client a detailed description of what services will be performed, how long you expect it to take and how often you will be performing the services. During this meeting verify what equipment or supplies the client will supply in case you need to make any changes to the contract.
- Once both you and the client have agreed on the terms of the contract, both you and the client must sign the contract in order to finalize it.
