How to Write a Music Artist Bio
In order to be taken seriously by bigger city venues a music artist should have a bio in their press kit. The bio of a music artist gives you all the important details about that artist. For example, a bio will tell the artist's audience where they are from, what type of music they play, things they've accomplished and more.
- Start your music artist's bio by giving the name of the artist or members of the band, what type of music the artist plays, where the artist is from and when they began performing.
- Continue the bio by giving a little bit of history on the artist. This could include, but is not limited to: albums the band has released in the past, what record labels the band has been a part of, bands they've performed with and any other big things they've achieved. This should be the body of your artist's bio. Important people such as record representatives and booking agents like to see a band's accomplishments. These events should go in order from past to present to show the history of the artist and how they've progressed throught their career.
- Conclude the artist's bio with what the artist is currently doing. For example, your artist could be currently touring their new album in a city near you. Leave the reader wanting more in the conclusion of your bio. An award winning artist could also be working on their new album.
- Update your artist's bio frequently to show new accomplishments and happenings. This will show the bands continued success with their fans.
