Writing a proper scholarship essay on leadership is important if you want to get extra money for school. Make sure to include all examples that you can think of that may you a good leader to give you a better chance of receiving the scholarship that you are applying to.

- Read over the specific topic for the essay that you will be writing and figure out how many pages the essay needs to be. Also, see if there are any other requirements that must be presented in the essay or included when you send in the essay.
- Write down any ideas that you have for the essay in a brainstorming fashion using a pen and piece of paper. Make sure to write down anything that comes to mind that fits in with the essay topic. Include examples of your leadership traits and any leadership positions that you have held.
- Look through the ideas that you have written down and prepare an outline for your essay. Include the introduction, body and conclusion sections to the outline.
- Type out your essay on your computer using your outline as a guide. Make sure that you have formatted your writing correctly and that it is the required amount of pages that you need.
- Print out your essay and let a family member read it over to make sure that your writing is good and that you have highlighted all of the important information about yourself. Ask your family member for suggestions to make your essay better and change your essay according to the critiques that you have received.
- Mail in your essay once you have completed it making sure that your final draft is a strong piece of writing. Check to make sure that you are within the deadline to present your essay and that you have all pieces of information that is required of you.
