Ideas for Corporate Philanthropy
Many companies continually give back to their communities by participating in corporate philanthropy. Others would like to get started in corporate giving, but do not know where to begin. However, getting started is pretty easy once you have looked over a few philanthropy ideas.
Donate Money
Start by setting up a fund or foundation for the company to give out money to nonprofit organizations. Donate a predetermined percentage of the company’s profits every year. Forgo having a Christmas party for the employees of the company. Make an announcement to donate the Christmas party’s budget money instead. Also, put in an effort to encourage employees to donate their own money as well.
How to Encourage Employees to Donate
Companies can participate in corporate philanthropy by doing things to encourage their own employees to give back to the community. There a couple of different ways for them to successfully accomplish this. Businesses can make it a rule for themselves to use their own money to double up their employee's entire donated amount. Furthermore, they can allocate a set number of days each year for their employees to do volunteer work, while still paying them as if it was a regular work day.
Donate resources
Donations made by companies do not have to be limited to money only. They can donate supplies to help nonprofit organizations run more smoothly. Furthermore, they can provide the nonprofit organizations with manpower by lending out some of their own paid employees.
