Ideas for Front Door Window Covers

Creativity for covers on your front door window can be exciting. Depending on the style of your house and the price you can afford, there are many options. They can be simple such as films, decals or sheers or possibly more private, like blinds, shades or curtains. Choosing more than one type can give that special look you want.

Films or Decals

Choosing one or more of these is nice for a smaller window. There is clear, tinted and frosted film. You can buy insulated film to keep your heat in also. Decals are nice for added creativity. If you have a favorite hobby, sport, or even with the help of your kids and their interests or holiday settings. Frosted film is nice for added design and privacy.

Blinds or Shades

Many different kinds of these are available to choose from and install yourself. There are roller, cellular and roman shades, you can get cordless also. Cellular are considered energy savers. They compress tightly when pulled up and when they are down, they keep heat or cooler air inside. You can also install brackets so they do not swing when your door is opened and closed.  Roman shades can add beauty and color to your front door. You can get sheer, pleated, fringed or thermal for colder weather. If you like wood, you can try bamboo or faux. These are great light blockers and add a nice touch to your entranceway. Outdoor window shades are also available. Whether it is different types of wood, colors of fabric or vinyl, there are many to choose from to match your interior and exterior

Curtains

With your own design, these will be original and appealing. Of course, you can always have frosted film or blinds too. Having half or a full windows can create beautiful curtain designs for all year round. Rods are usually used to hold both tops and bottoms, if necessary, in place. In the warmer weather, lightweight material can be used. Fringe is attractive on plain cotton colored, shorter curtains. Attractive ideas could also include light prints, seasonal designs, your pets or favorite music stars. You can do different shapes, with the rods on both top and bottom and securing curtains with colored ribbon or shoelaces. The pleated effect is good too, using different lengths of curtains together. You can have frosted film on your window and curtains also. The ideas for holidays are great too.
