Ideas for Royal Wedding Receptions

Many little girls grow up wanting to be a princess. One way to achieve this even if just for a day is by having a royal wedding reception. If a royal wedding reception is desired there are a number of things that can be done to make a wedding feel more upscale.

Mid-day receptions

Since many people are having their wedding later in the day, a late morning wedding followed by a midday reception can be done to leave plenty of time to celebrate with wedding guests. The meal type can be a brunch or lunch menu with lighter kinds of food than a sit down dinner.

Wedding colors

Purple and gold have been considered the colors of royalty for centuries. These can be colors used in the wedding reception. To make the reception seem more "royal” white or ivory can be used for chairs and linens with the purple and gold used a accents throughout the reception in things like centerpieces.

Royal Venues

If it can be afforded a castle is the ultimate place to hold a royal wedding reception. Guests will be impressed with the history and notoriety of a castle as a venue. If a castle is not in the cards, a ballroom can be transformed into a venue fit for a royal wedding reception. Older and non-chain hotels would be good to look at for ballrooms with character.

Decor

Using candles as lighting does not only giving a romantic feel but adds to the idea of a royal wedding. Lots of fresh flowers also exude royalty since flowers can be a costly part of a wedding reception.
