Ideas on French Interior Design Ideas

French interior design ideas are some of the most popular choices when it comes to home decorating. Not only is French design visually pleasing, it can either create a decadent French royalty room or a simplistic and carefree French country cottage.

French Shabby Chic

Shabby chic is the most popular French style used in American homes. Its dash of luxury mixed with that rustic old country feel makes it an accepted interior design. There are a few ideas to go about adding shabby chic to your home. Bring in white colored chairs or benches to the living room. These will match nicely with a light paint color or floral wallpaper.

Having an all pink and white bedroom exudes the shabby chic style. Have white walls, pink floral bedding, pink accents, and white furniture. You can have a chandelier hanging in the center of the room to make it well appointed. The key to shabby chic is keeping an old country essence while making it feminine.

French Royalty

This type of design is based off of King Louis and the French Revolution of the 1700’s. The chairs must be damask seating and be based off of that point in time. Wallpaper can either be damask or light floral. A paint option to use can be deep purple, red, or even a light pink to keep it more fun than serious. The whole idea is to add King Louis styles mixed with Venetian without any sign of modern simple pieces in the room.
