The paint that has no or very little VOC is the best type when it comes to being green. You can find it in a lot of different colors as regular paint as well. If you want to get some eco friendly floors, then opt for carpet that is made with recycled materials. There is also wood flooring that is made with natural cork or bamboo or even reclaimed wood. You can also find tile made out of recycled glass.

Furniture

If you are looking to upgrade your furniture, then there are ways you can do this without sending it straight to the landfill. Use non toxic paint on wooden furniture that needs to be touched up. Take pieces around your home and find ways to reuse them or cut them into other useful pieces of furniture. For instance, an old door can be cut to be a unique and beautiful headboard. Nothing is more green than recycling your own furniture and décor around your home.
