Why Was There Bloodletting in Barber Shops?

Ideas on Money Making for Barber Shops

Just like any business, barber shops are always looking for ways to make money. There are several ways to attract new customers and retain your existing ones. There are also several ways to cut costs in order to save money.

Entertainment

Keep your customers entertained while getting their haircut. Put televisions in places they can easily see while getting their haircut and waiting in line. Most customers don't like to wait in line a long time to get their haircut. Helping them pass the time will keep them around longer and returning. Also create an area to entertain younger children. Put a small table somewhere that has coloring books, crayons and toys to play with. Parents who bring their children in will have a hard time keeping them occupied while waiting.

Additional Services

Consider offering other services than just haircuts. Offer services like pedicures, manicures, massages and waxing that are normally just offered in spas. This allows customers to get multiple services in one place instead of driving around to multiple stores.

Save Energy

Cut down on your electric bill by turning off things when you're not using them. Make sure everything that needs to be turned off at night is. Also make sure your building is energy efficient by being properly insulated. It might be tough to make your store more energy efficient if you're renting a building. Talk with your landlord to see what they have to say.
