Industrial Interior Design Ideas

Industrial interior design can be considered a throw back to the interior designs of old 1800's warehouses. The look adds modern touches to the vintage design with steel grays, streamline fabrics, wood accents, and vintage style decorations. The style mixes warm hues with cold tones.

Earthy Tones

This is a contemporary approach to the industrial chic style. Adding warm wood tones with mossy green will give the home an outback cabin feel. Painting a fireplace hearth a traditional color of brown and mixing it with décor in the colors of rusty reds and hunter greens will emphasize the living area. Adding in soft brown hues of carpet and wooden chairs will make the earthy industrial style whole.

Metal Styles

Industrial styled homes can have a metal theme. Metals with a matte finish or a shiny based acrylic mesh well with a modern wood floor. For an authentic and interesting feel, try to add metal doors to the rooms of the house. This fits in perfect with the old time factory look yet doesn’t feel dated.

Add Metal Shelves

If you want a bit of the industrial design but don’t want to take away from your personal interior decorating, you can add in metal shelves which will give the living room a nice added touch. This is also a great idea for those that aren’t too fond of the vintage style but want a bit of the industrial plan incorporated in their homes. A metal table can also match up, just don’t go overboard and keep it nice and simple.
