Industrial Painting Methods

Industrial Painting Contractors

Industrial painting contractors work on a scale rather different from home painting contractors. Their job may include applying fireproofing, waterproofing and various protective covers and liners as well as ordinary paint. It may also involve accessing hard-to-reach areas and using construction equipment.

Industrial painting contractors are a little different from home painting contractors. They do commercial jobs that are generally on a larger scale. They handle such things as maintenance painting of industrial buildings or storage tanks.

However, industrial painting contractors also handle more complicated and sometimes dangerous tasks such as sandblasting or adding a protective layer to a roof or floor. They may apply linings to storage tanks in order to hold in water or noxious liquids. Some forms of fireproofing are also painted as liquids. A few companies may also provide plaster repair. Also, they do surveys and inspections to determine whether these tasks need to be performed.

Thus, the paint being applied is likely to serve one or more of a number of purposes other than appearance and color. Contractors may specialize in a specific area or they may apply all kinds of paint to all kinds of situations. For example, some may provide maintenance painting for large apartment or office complexes. Others may primarily focus on tank liners or on painting roofs. However, many large contractors will do any task that might loosely be considered painting. They are generally separate from companies that do painting jobs in or around single family homes.

Finally, some commercial and industrial projects may prove challenging due to the nature of the structure being painted. Industrial contractors thus may use and operate various lifts and other machinery in order to access difficult locations, as well as equipment to handle large quantities of paint and other materials.
