Installing Seamless Metal Gutters
Seamless gutters aren't as hard to install as other types of gutters like copper. These gutters are very efficient at keeping water away from your houses foundation. You shouldn't have too much trouble installing these gutters with the right tools and a little gutter carpentry skills.
Safety
Never install gutters in bad weather. Climbing on ladders and working high in the air will be too dangerous for inclement weather. Wait for a dry day to start installing gutters. Starting a day or two later won't be the end of the world. There's no sense in risking injury to just install gutters.
Measure Roof
Don't just buy a whole bunch of material. Measure the length of your roof line first. Draw a diagram and write down the measurements of each section. Determine where you want the downspouts to be located. This is very important because you'll need to install the gutters at a slight decline going towards the downspout. The decline will allow water and debris to flow easier.
Buy Materials
Purchase all the materials you need at a local home care store. Don't assume you know every little piece you need. Talk with an expert at the store about the proper tools and material you need. Show them the diagram you drew to help them get a better idea about how much material you're going to need.
Install Gutters
Mark with a chalk line where you want the gutters to be fastened on each roof line. This will help you make sure you're installing them with a little decline. A lot of experts claim that your gutters should drop about two inches every 40 feet. This might be something you want to discuss with the same expert that helped you buy the materials.
Install the hangers first using nails. Use a regular hammer, an air gun will be too powerful. Place a nail about every 26 inches. Install the gutters on the hangers by snapping them into place. Finally install the seamless piece. Repeat this process until you've installed seamless metal gutters on your entire house.
