Instructions for Operating a Waverunner
Wave Runners are a personal watercraft in many models. The Wave Runner is considered the most fuel efficient for waterways and boating. While they can be dangerous, it provides for a really good time on the water. It is important to be careful, wearing life jackets and keeping the choke bracelet securely on. Wave Runner offers watercraft models for one to three people.
Some important safety requirements for the Wave Runner are:
- Wear a life jacket whenever operating the Wave Runner. Safety is important when enjoying your watercraft. Never use the Wave Runner at night because it has no lighting available.
- Riders should never consume alcohol before or while riding. There are laws that allow intoxicated driver to be charged for operating any watercraft while under the influence.
- Check the Wave Runner to see if the fire extinguisher is on the Wave Runner because it is required by law.
Attach the engine shut-off cord to the driver's wrist before starting. Turn the fuel cock knob to the “On” position. Pull the “Choke” knob up and push the green “Start” button. Squeeze the “Throttle lever” on the right hand side to increase the speed.
Steer the watercraft by turning the handlebars the direction you want to travel. Scan the body of water for swimmers, boats, skiers and fishermen prior to moving the Wave Runner. It is safe to assume that other drivers aren't as careful to avoid any accidents. Move the Wave Runner out into the water and pull the “Throttle lever” to increase speed. Use the “Shift lever” on the far right hand side to maneuver in reverse.
