Instructions for a Safe House Alarm System

Safe House alarm systems are a welcome reassurance for homeowners that their property and loved ones can be well protected from burglars and home invaders. The actual installation and set-up is often taken care of by the security company itself, but there are still some instructions for the homeowner to follow to properly use the security system.

Instructions:

  1. Make sure that the Safe House alarm system is turned to "off."

  2. Double check that the interal alarm, remote control switch and the entry delay plates are all in proper place.

  3. Plug in the alarm system's AC adapter to a wall outlet.

  4. Take a standby battery and insert it into the alarm unit.

  5. Test the alarm system. Do this by switching the unit to "test" mode and making some movements inside the home. If the LED light for the "test" mode remains lit while you are moving around in the area, then the alarm is functioning and set properly.

  6. Set the alarm system. Do this by switching the alarm unit to the "arm" mode. You will have twenty seconds to leave your house before the system is fully activated. Upon re-entering your home, the alarm will sound for fifteen seconds, giving you ample time to disarm the alarm system with your security code. If your home is entered and the proper security code is not given within the allotted fifteen seconds, the security company or police department will be notified.

  7. If you do not want the Safe House alarm system engaged, simply set it to "off" mode.
