Instrument Storage Room
It is important to have a climate controlled instrument storage room or area. Storage is a good idea for chorus, music or band rooms. When many instruments are in a household with young children or pets, a separate storage area is advised. Locker storage units with locks and shelves are a good storage option. Store your musical instruments safely.
- Determine what your instrument storage room needs are. Musical instruments are expensive and some are very delicate in nature. Careful safe storage of these instruments is vital to any band, chorus, or music room. There might be an area of your home that needs some updated musical instrument storage areas.
- Measure the size of space needed to store your instruments. If this is strictly for at home use you will not need the same storage space as an entire band room. There are some musical families who do acquire a lot of instruments though.
- Determine if you will need a locked cabinet, case, or lockers. The size and type will depend on the amount and type of instruments being stored. For band, chorus, or music rooms, the locker type cabinets work very well. Most will come with a feature that will allow them to be locked. These lockers can have doors or not.
- Make sure that where you are storing your instruments is climate controlled and safe for instrument storage. This is very important so as not to warp, damage, or otherwise harm your prized possessions.
- Decide if you need shelving space for sheet music or other types of supplies. Some of the lockers also contain shelf space.
- Consider if file type cabinets might be a good investment. These can keep sheet music and other essentials in an organized easy system.
- Think about organizing a specific place in your home that will keep instruments organized and safe. This is important if you have young children or pets.
