International Trucks Specifications

International trucks are commonly seen throughout the international roadways. The most typical type of international truck is the semi-trailer truck. There are certain specifications that are common among these trucks, and there are some that are specialized to fit the needs of the driver or regional laws.

Engine

There are two main typed of engines offered in international trucks. One of the engines includes the CAT C15 engine, which has options of 435 horsepower or 550 horsepower. The other engine type most commonly seen in international trucks is the Cummins ISX. This engine is available in two options, which are 435 or 600 horsepower. Many trucks are available with each engine option.

Cab

There are two main cab options in most international trucks depending on the distance of the deliveries that will be made with the truck. There is an optional sleeper cab that is available for those truck drivers who will be driving very long distances in their trucks. The size and options can vary with the sleeper cabs, and can run from a very basic sleeping option to extremely deluxe sleeping accommodations as well as everything in between. For those who will be driving smaller distances, they would not need a sleeper cab, so the standard seat cab is an option for these drivers.

Fuel and Tanks

There are a wide variety of fuel tank sizes for international truck. This would depend on the size of the truck and the tank space availability. The most common fuel tank is under the cab or on the right side of the cab and the size is a 115-gallon tank. The sleeper cab trucks have a bit larger dual tanks that hold 150 gallons. These are under the cab tanks.

Suspension

There are many different options available for suspension on international trucks. The suspensions commonly seen for front suspension are the Hendricks front mom-leaf springs suspensions. These can hold up to 12,350 pounds.
