Introduction to MBA Programs Online

The MBA or Master of Business Administration is an advanced terminal degree that prepares students for a number of careers in upper management, running large corporations, and opening their own their own businesses, to name a few. The MBA was one of the first advanced degrees to be regionally accredited and offered completely online.

The Online MBA 

An online MBA is taught completely in an online format, which means that students in one state can earn their degree from a completely different state. A true MBA online degree will have no campus requirements from the student, but students can attend graduation ceremonies on the campus if they choose, though it is not required. When receiving your MBA diploma is will not display “Distance Degree” or “Online”, it will look exactly the same as those that completed it at the campus.

Are the Courses the Same Online and On Campus?

One fear that many people have when considering an online MBA is that they will somehow be cheated out of a “real” education. However, it has been shown through studies that those learning online are just as prepared and learn just as much if not more than on-campus MBA graduates.

The courses will be exactly the same online as they are on campus. You will go online and log into your “classroom” where you will find instructor notes, contact information, and your course materials. In addition, there will be some type of discussion board where you will interact with fellow classmates and your instructor. You will have assignments due and research papers, which are the same as if you were on campus.
