Iron-On Directions for a Girl Scout Uniform
Girls that are in Girl Scouts will need to purchase a sash for their uniform in order to display the badges that they receive for the accomplishments completed while in the program. Applying these patches to the Girl Scout uniform is a quick and easy process.
- Purchase the Girl Scout uniform that you need for the little girl in Girl Scouts at a participating retail store in the area where you live. If you are unsure where a retailer in the area is located, ask the Girl Scout troop leader.
- Ask the Girl Scout troop leader if there is a designated spot where the patch should be applied. Some patches have a specific location where they need to be placed on the uniform sash.
- Measure the area on the sash where the badge is going to be placed to ensure that you are placing the patch in the center of the sash. Use a standard tape measure to ensure accuracy.
- Mark the center of the area where you are going to be placing the badge with a pencil so that you can center the patch onto the sash correctly.
- Remove the adhesive backing that comes in place on the patch when it is purchased. Peel back one corner of the adhesive and gently pull until it is removed from the backside of the patch to expose the adhesive backing on the patch.
- Put the badge onto the sash in the designated spot paying attention to the pencil mark as a reference point for placement.
- Place a towel over the badge. Be sure that the patch does not move while placing the towel onto the sash.
- Apply an iron on a medium setting to the towel over the area where the patch is located.
- Move the iron over the patch in a back and forth motion for 3-5 minutes. Be sure to focus on the edges and corners to ensure that a proper seal is formed.
