Lawn Treatment Guide

Lawn treatment can seem tricky and time consuming. You don’t have to spend your entire weekend devoted to your lawn to treat it properly. Just a few hours a week and the proper treatment during each season will give you a beautiful lawn you can be proud of.

Watering

It is best to water your lawn in the mornings before it gets hot. Watering at night could lead to disease and mildew on your grass. This could cause many expensive issues. The grass remains wet all night and does not have a chance to dry out.

Purchase a sprinkler that sprays low to the ground; if your sprinkler sprays too high the water doesn’t wet the grass efficiently.

Mowing

It is important to clean your lawn mower to remove any debris from the previous season. Cutting your grass long helps to protect fragile roots and allow for growth.

Mowing once a week keeps it looking good and prevents unruly growth.

Re-seeding

As soon as the danger of frost has ended, it is a good time to add grass seed to areas affected by harsh winters. Time your re-seeding during the rainy season; this helps to promote growth.

Thatching & Raking

In the spring, the first thing you should do is to rake the leaves from fall and winter that are still on your lawn. If you have large amounts of cut dead grass leftover from the previous season, you will need to use a thatcher to help uncover the roots and allow new growth.
