New Methods for Sewer Cleaning
Sewer cleaning is used for clogs and blockages in pipes. It is also used when tree roots start to cause problems. There are different methods for clearing your pipes and sewer jetting is the most effective. Sewer jetting can blast through the toughest clogs in your pipes. It can even remove tree roots.
All pipes experience build up. Even with preventative measures, it's unlikely that you will find a pipe that is completely clean. As the years go by, build up can accumulate until it eventually narrows down the flow in your pipe. If this hardens, you might need to have your pipes replaced. Buildup can lead to a very expensive job.
- The plunger is a form of sewer cleaning because of the process it uses. When you plunge your pipes, you are forcing the water back and forth. The pressure from this is enough to cleanse some build up off your pipes.
- Chemical drain cleaners help clear any obstructions in the drain. This includes grease and buildup on your pipes. Use caution, especially if you have cast iron pipes. Many older homes have these, and acids can eat a hole through them.
- A green, earth-friendly way to clean your pipes is with vinegar and baking soda. When you mix the baking soda and vinegar, it creates a foaming mixture that is outstanding at removing grease, sludge, and clogs. Your biggest issue will probably be using enough to get it deep into the pipes. The further into the pipes it goes, the cleaner the system.
- Sewer jetting, or hydro jetting, is one of the newest ways to effectively clean sewer pipes. Basically, pipes are cleaned with high pressure water and a hose. The pressure and force is enough to thoroughly clean gunk in the pipes. It will even cut through hardened buildup, clearing your pipes for maximum performance.
- Sewer jetting is also used to remove tree roots from your sewer lines. If the roots growing haven't destroyed your pipes, the sewer jetting will effectively take them out. Tree roots are a common problem, and they are the cause of blockages in the pipes.
