Options for Bathroom Floor Tile

There are three main types of bathroom tiles available on the market for you to choose from today.  Your budget will largely dictate which one of these types of tiles you will be able to afford to use within your bathroom.  Of course, you can always be somewhat creative and choose to use a combination of these different types of tiles.

• Ceramic floor tiles are the least expensive option.  They are available in 12-inch by 12-inch or 18-inch by 18-inch tiles.  Unfortunately, there are not a lot of color options available with the most common being beige.  White, beige, burgundy and black are also available.


• Glass floor tiles are another option but these tiles are more expensive than ceramic, usually by a few more dollars per tile.  They are most commonly sold in 4 by 4 squares however 2 by 2 and 2 by 6 options are also available.  The nice thing about glass tiles is that they are available in a lot more colors.


• Natural stone is the most expensive type of bathroom floor tile.  The most popular types of stone include marble, travertine, soapstone and granite.  You can purchase travertine and soapstone tiles in 12 by 12 squares while marble and granite are usually sold by the slab, which is measured in linear feet.  Sometimes you can also find a few marble designs that are sold in 12 by 12 squares
