Pancreatic Cancer Alternative Treatments
Pancreatic cancer is one of the most serious cancer forms afflicting patients today. Because it's a relatively symptom-free disease until it reaches the advanced stages, it is difficult to catch early in its progression and stop. The search for alternative treatments for pancreatic cancer continues as conventional radiation, surgery and chemotherapy offer little resistance to such a deadly cancer.
As one of the most serious and potentially fatal forms of cancer, pancreatic cancer is a slow growing and relatively symptomless disease until it has progressed to the point of being almost unstoppable. If you or someone you love is facing pancreatic cancer, you may be looking for alternative or complementary treatments for the disease when conventional medicine seems to offer little help in fighting it. According to the Mayo Clinic, the leading expert on medical issues reports, no alternative or complementary methods of treatment have been found to fight pancreatic cancer effectively. They can help alleviate the pain and suffering associated with the disease and the side effects of the traditional medical treatments. Such examples include, meditation, music therapy and acupuncture.
With that being said, there is still alternative treatment hope alive in a new procedure known as Pancreatic enzyme therapy. It is still in the research and test phase but results are showing that in mice, this therapy helps the mouse injected with the enzymes live longer and greatly shrink the tumor size. While still considered unproven during it's research phase, it does offer hope to a disease that is difficult to treat. At this time though, it cannot be seen as a replacement treatment for pancreatic cancer.
