Throwing a princess party opens you up to many options. This is one theme where you can easily find fun crafts and games to entertain a group of girls for several hours. With only a few simple supplies and some imagination, you will put on the best princess party your child has ever seen.
The first thing you should do is decide how many crafts you want to have at the party. Then, see if you can tie them into several fun games or activities to keep your guests happy.
There are a few that work well and tie into each other, which will keep your party moving along.
Supplies needed:
- Foam crowns
- Glitter paint/glue
- Fake jewels
- Short dowels
- Ribbon in different colors
- Princess music
- Mica powder or cosmetic glitter
- Hot glue gun (adult use only)
- When your guests arrive, have them gather in one area and start by teaching the girls a simple dance with only a few moves.
- Once everyone has arrived and had a chance to learn the dance, move on to crown making.
- Give each child a foam crown and write names on the back. Let them use glitter paint/glue to adhere the jewels and create designs on the crowns. Once finished, lay out to dry.
- Work on wands. Give each child a dowel and allow them to choose several ribbons. Help to tie the ribbons to the end of the dowel, have adult hot glue the knot in place. Each child can make two if you have enough supplies.
- Have cupcakes or cake. That way, the messy part is out of the way before you move on to princess makeup.
- Send guests to a makeup station. Here, an adult should be available to apply a little glitter or mica powder. A light colored lip gloss and spray glitter for hair is always a big hit, as well.
- Hand out their completed wands and crowns. Now it is time for a princess dance, let them do the dance you taught earlier in the party as well as freestyle. The ribbon wands are a fun way to enhance their dance moves.
