Problems With Lawn Sprinklers

Lawn sprinkler systems make watering any size lawn easier on homeowners and businesses alike. They can be timed to water the lawn at specific times of the day or early in the morning. When the sprinkler system is maintained, it can work trouble-free for many years. However, there are some common problems that can occur with lawn sprinklers.

Timing Problems

One of the most common problems with lawn sprinkler systems is with the timing. Imagine the sprinkler system going off in the middle of the day on a golf course; this happens when the timing is either set wrong or malfunctions. If the timing is off, it can begin watering your lawn at odd hours, watering too long causing your lawn to flood, or not watering enough. The cause for this is normally one or more sensors that have broken.

Sprinkler Head Problems

If you have ever seen a lawn sprinkler system turned on and one of the sprinkler heads shooting water straight into the air, this is a malfunctioning sprinkler head. It is also a very common problem that happens with sprinkler systems. There are many reasons for this malfunction, but the fix is to replace the sprinkler head.

Leaking within the Sprinkler System

Your sprinkler system for your lawn should never leak at any point, if it does, your system is not only wasting water, but it is not properly irrigating. More advanced lawn sprinkler systems have an indicator that tells you where the leak is, which can help you to figure out why it is leaking and then have the leak repaired.
