Size Guide for Women's Plus Size Clothes
Clothing sizes vary by manufacturer, but follow the same general guidelines. Some manufacturers produce clothes that are true to size, while others will always "run large" or "run small." Manufacturing standards dictate the way in which clothes are assigned a size classification. Sizes are based on body measurement.
Clothing size charts are derived from body measurements. Chart your measurements to verify which size will fit.

Tips For Pants Sizing
Measurements for pant sizes are taken at different places depending on the rise. Measure the distance from the top of the waistband to the inseam.
- Above waist: 11 - 12 inches
- At waist: 10 - 11 inches
- Low rise: 8.5 - 10 inches
- Very low rise: 7 - 8.5 inches
Where To Measure
- Bust: Measure under the arms, around the largest part of the bust with arms straight down.
- Waist: To determine the natural waist, stand straight with shoulders squared and slowly bend to one side. A fold in the skin will appear at the natural waistline.
- Rise: Measure from the top of the waistband to the seam in the crotch.
- Hips: Stand straight with feet together. Find the fullest spot above the top of the legs and measure around that area.
